AUGUST 13, 2008 – HSA Meeting and Open House

 

Meeting was called to order at 5:05 pm by John Mizelle, Principal. Michelle O’Neal commenced.

 

President’s Welcome:

  • Introduction of HSA committee members:

      Angela Farmer- 1st Vice President

            VACANT – 2nd Vice President (Gina Agron vacated position to be a teacher)

            Michelle Benke- Treasurer

            Monja Smith- Secretary

 

  • Information and history about St. Mary’s and welcome to all families and students.

 

  • Overview of Budget and proposed expenses for St. Mary’s and HSA with balances/estimates as follows:

 

1) $200 per teacher per semester           →   $6800.00

2) Accelerated Math Program             →   $ 200.00

3) Liturgy Committee                            →   $ 200.00

4) Red Ribbon Week                           →   $ 300.00

5) Catholic Schools Week                     →   $ 300.00 

      6) Field Day                                                →   $ 150.00

      7) Student Incentives                               →   $ 300.00

        8) TSAC                                    →   $ 150.00

      9) Ice Cream Social                    →    $ 130.00

     10) Volunteer Recognition                        →    $ 500.00

     11)  Gifts                                                      →    $ 300.00

Request by Mr. Mizelle for immediate purchases are for the School Reach program (the emergency phone program) for $1000.00, and an Academic Computer Program called K to the 8th Power for $1500.00.

 

  • A move was made by Mr.Saliba to accept the budget/proposed expenses; it was seconded by Mrs. Anderson and was approved.

 

  • Introduction of and information on various committees, clubs and programs such as Popcorn and Pickle Day, Scrip, Box Tops, Booster Club, Girls Scouts and TSAC. Mr. Dalton provided information for the Lawton Soccer Club; Mr. Sanchez spoke on behalf of the Booster Club.

 

  • Introduction of teachers and conclusion of meeting with students proceeding to their classrooms.
